Thursday: It’s All About the Socks

Hi All! It’s time for another sock post…yeah, I know. It’s shocking for me too. I didn’t think I’d have anything to post about today; however after reading my dear friend Hannah’s sock post (I’ll link below), I was reminded that even a little progress is progress.

You may (or not) remember my Hermione’s EveryDay Socks.ย They have been languishing for FOREVER. I started the first sock in September of last year; so yes, that was 6 months ago. Eek! I was finally able to pick up my first sock today and start working on it. When we last spoke of these socks, I was 10 pattern repeats into the foot. I needed to knit to the end of my foot, stopping right before my big toe. I am proud to say that I have now reached that point with 17 pattern repeats (of four rows)! So, yes, I’m finally starting the toe! Are you as excited as I am? Let’s have a party ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m excited to learn the Kitchener Stitch and have lined up some YouTube videos to help. Once all that’s finished, I need to still knit the next one…boo, hiss. The next pair I make are going to either be made in tandem or TAAT (Two At A Time).

I know that Maggie and Alex are currently taking a break from blogging; however Hannah is kicking butt on her beautiful, striped socks! If you want to join us in knitting socks, link up and check out whatย Maggie, Hannah and Alex are doing over on their blogs!

Until next time, Happy Knitting!
