Hi All!
My husband and I took a trip to Maui, HI a few weeks ago and that is where most of my sock knitting happened this month. I captured some pictures the last day we were there from our lanai; however it was a little cloudy.
I was able to complete one baby sock, using the Baby Mitten Socks pattern discussed last month. I wanted baby girl “Rainbow J”, affectionately known as “Rainy” to have at least one sock made in HI so she could have a beautiful view to go with the sock. Here’s a pic of the HO (Half Finished Object) to tide you over until they are finished. (Hint: You can click on any pic in this post and it will open into a larger version.)
I also made a bit of progress on my Smooth Operators. The Smooth Operators have been on the needles since the pattern first came out…July of 2016! Holy cow, batman! These really need some love; however it’s still gonna be a little while as I need to make a baby blanket and finish that other sock for Rainy. Maybe they’ll get some attention while road tripping. We’ll see!
My progress keeper shows how far I’ve come since you last saw these. They are almost ready for the afterthought heel to be started. I decided to take a couple more pics this morning to show the progress a little better. These were taken in my backyard on another cloudy day.
And I know that this is not technically a sock; however it is called the Sockhead Slouch Hat and uses sock yarn. I thought I’d update you on my progress here too. It’s my take-a-long project so it doesn’t get a ton of attention if I’m not waiting somewhere or being a passenger in a vehicle. I’m really enjoying the supersoft yarn by Forbidden Woolery in the Gluttony Sock base and the color Alchemy. The yarn came from the Yarnbox Sock Club and I would never have gotten to experience the pleasure of this yarn without the club. It’s measuring 9 inches from the edge, so I’ve got a few more inches before starting the decreases. Yep, it’s that slouchy!
That’s it for me this month! I post on the first Thursday of every month about socks, along with my friends that also like to post about socks. If you’d like to join up, let one of us know and we’ll add you to the link up party 🙂 After that, post on the first Thursday of every month with the title “Once Upon a Sock” and link to us. Easy, peasy!

I love your tiny socks!
Also I’m so sorry, I have been offline for the last two days with a migraine – I did think yesterday ‘argh, it’s once upon a sock day’ but I just couldn’t face looking at a screen. Will get my post up, belatedly, this evening.

Yep!!! Especially with the time change. I wake up super early and sit on the lanai watching the sun come up with a cup of coffee and my knitting 🙂 It’s an awesome experience.
