Hi All!

This year is flying by and this past month has been no exception. I didn’t meet my goal of finishing my socks by the 1 year anniversary of starting them; however I did finish them in the same month 🙂 I absolutely adore the pattern, fit and yarn…I guess I just love everything about them!

Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm) magic loop
Yarn: String Theory Colorworks Inertia Self Striping in the color Putnisite
Started / Finished: July 10, 2016 – July 23, 2016 (Whew!)
New Techniques Learned: Afterthought Heels…this was new to me and scary as heck when I first started taking out the waste yarn, but now I love the method and will use it for future sock patterns. Especially for self-striping sock yarn!
I knit these TAAT and they took forever; however I’m so happy to be finished with them! They are super soft, especially after blocking and I know I’ll get a ton of use out of them.
Now, I just need to decide what I want to knit next. I’m leaning very heavily towards the Rose City Rollers or actually knitting the pattern from this months Yarnbox Sock Club, Call Me Ishmael. My yarn for the sock club just went in the mail yesterday, so I don’t know what color I will receive as of yet. Maybe I’ll wait until I get it and then decide. Regardless, I will have another pair on the needles again soon!

Wooohooo congrats! The finished project is brilliant – so glad you’re pleased with them because they’re ace! I am considering afterthought heels for my next pair of socks – it feels so wrong! But can definitely see the appeal. Did you follow a particular technique?

Ugh…I replied to you last night; however it was on my phone. I see now that the comment didn’t take 😦 I basically knit three rows of waste yarn back and forth on the heel. Then I just continued knitting for 2-3 inches. Then I went back and picked up the stitches above and below the waste yarn, pulled out the waste yarn and started knitting the heel per the pattern instructions. Easy, peasy! Thanks so much for the great compliments 🙂 I am very pleased with the fit and overall look of them. I will definitely use this pattern again in the future!

Oh Paula, they turned out so beautifully! Congrats on getting them off the needles — nothing is better than socks that you’ll get lots of use of. I’m excited to see what you choose next … I love the Rose City Rollers! I’m so sorry I missed Thursday — I had it on my radar at the beginning of the week … and then completely spaced when I wrote a post on Thursday. I’ll be back at it next month 😀 Hope you’re doing well!

Thank you so much, Katherine! I kind of figured that was what happened. It’s hard to remember which day is which when traveling cross country. I still haven’t chosen what I’m doing next as I’ve been wrapped up in my sock yarn blanket. I guess I’d better get on it…although I’m still waiting on my sock yarn from Yarnbox to see if I want to work on those socks! Hopefully, I’ll get it today and can finally make a decision. Everything is going well here and I’m enjoying your journey!
