Once Upon A Sock – January 2019

Hi Friends!

Do you knit or crochet socks? Do you like to blog about them and share your progress? The first Thursday of every month, my friends and I link up with each other and talk about our socks…the good, the bad, and the ugly. The beauty of a link up party is the ability to jump in and out when you want to share….even if you’ve knit just one row or want to talk about what you’re dreaming of making next. Click the link below to join in, follow the instructions, then link back to my blog so we can all share in the happiness of your gorgeous socks! Feel free to use the beautiful OUAS images Stefanie, from stefaniecraftswithwoolpaperfabric, created just for us. All are included within my blog. I adore the winter image she recently created!

Happy New Year, Friends! I hope you were able to enjoy some down time with your loved ones. Holidays always seem so hectic; however this year, I made sure to take some time for me. I think the first week I was on vacation, all I did was veg out and watch Christmas movies, after making sure I had all my shopping completed 🙂

Speaking of which, if you haven’t seen it yet, check out my last post for what I made during the holidays. Besides that, I really didn’t accomplish much else. I had really great ambitions for all that I was going to do. I’m not sure what quite happened. I think I fell down the YouTube rabbit hole, as well as the DVR rabbit hole. One thing I did accomplish was watching most of the series I’ve had for forever. My DVR went from 38% available to 92%…okay…I guess I know where that time went. LOL

One thing I didn’t do was to stay up to date on all the blogs I follow. I think I attempted to at one point and then I decided not to post much on social media or look at email since I was being bombarded with holiday sales. I did not need more temptation. So, if you haven’t seen me comment or love on your posts in awhile, that’s why! I’ll be back to normal again soon 🙂

I was able to get another cable repeat completed on the Parkamoor Socks I’m working on that were designed by our very own Katherine from fiberandsustenance.  You can click on the link to her website to learn more about her first ever pattern for sale on Ravelry.

I am enjoying knitting them, even though I’m going about it very slowly. I always have grandiose plans about finishing a pair of socks in a month and it never happens. Sometimes it will take 6 months to complete a pair. And it’s okay. I still enjoy knitting them and talking about them. You can kind of see the beautiful cable in this enlarged image; however I promise you…in real life, it’s gorgeous! I know when I finish these that they will be a beloved pair.

I didn’t really do a year end wrap up because to tell the truth, last year was kind of crappy for creating…both knitting and crochet wise. There was too much going on and I didn’t get to accomplish as much as I wanted. I really hope this year will be different and that I truly get my mojo back. I raise a glass of bubbly to you and salute you for hanging in there with me while I work through some issues.

Until next time, Happy Knitting!
