Once Upon a Sock – June 2019

Hi Friends!

Do you knit or crochet socks? Do you like to blog about them and share your progress? The first Thursday of every month, my friends and I link up with each other and talk about our socks…the good, the bad, and the ugly. The beauty of a link up party is the ability to jump in and out when you want to share….even if you’ve knit just one row or want to talk about what you’re dreaming of making next. Click the link below to join in, follow the instructions, then link back to my blog so we can all share in the happiness of your gorgeous socks!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

My deepest apologies for getting this out late today! I don’t know why it didn’t register yesterday. I think I still have travel brain from my trip to London and Paris! Speaking of which, I got to meet up with some fellow OUAS’ers at Loop in Islington, London and it was so much fun!

It was seriously like we had known each other forever when we first met. We hung around the yarn shop chatting for a bit, went out for some yummy Mexican (very unlike Mexican food in the US) food and drinks, then back to the knitting store for more hanging out and yarn purchases, then tea in the late afternoon, before all heading back to our respective abodes. It was so much fun getting to hang out and meet everyone. I humbly thank all of you for making time out of your busy schedules while I was in town. I feel like I’ve made some lifelong friends!

I will create a second post on the yarn shops and the yarn I purchased soon. Here’s some pics of us for you to enjoy!

Okay…I couldn’t go to a OUAS meetup without socks on the needles, so I spent a couple of days before we left pondering what to choose for my next pair. I’ve had Rose City Rollers in my queue forever and I decided that was the pattern. I also knew I was going to London, where it rains a lot, so I wanted something bright and cheerful. Oh my gosh! This colorway definitely screams Look at Me! I’ve had it in my stash for quite a long time from Madelinetosh, Tosh Sock, in the colorway Neon Peach. Oh so good and a perfect colorway for Spring and Summer time! I cast on during our plane ride over, so these have been truly well traveled socks already. Sadly, I haven’t got any further than the pics shown below. I had to finish a baby blanket, which I’ll talk about in another post, since it’s in the mail to Mom and Dad.

I also worked a lot on my Sockhead Slouch Hats (just cause easy knitting); however I’ll also save that for another post. I know my lovely ladies are probably wondering where the heck this post is and I want to get it out there. What’s happening in the knitting front for you right now? Anything new planned for Summer? I’d love to hear all about it!

Until next time, Happy Knitting!

How fun to meet up with knitters across the pond. Loop likes like such a cute store.
