Once Upon a Sock: Simple House Slippers

Hi All!

Happy New Year to all of you! I am very, very behind on everyone’s blogs as I decided to take a little holiday while I got my knitting mojo back. It’s back, I’m healed from my Cubital Tunnel Syndrome and I’m ready to get back to catching up with old friends, visiting some new friends and knitting once again!

So, let’s start the new year out right and get to the new format of sock posts for my blog. This means every first Thursday of the month will have a sock post instead of every Thursday as it was in the past. It’s much easier to provide an update on socks once a month instead of writing about the teensiest bit of progress every Thursday as I do not solely (get it!) knit socks. This month, we do not have socks per se; however, I did knit something for the feet and am going to include it just cause it’s my prerogative. Presenting the Simple House Slippers!

Ravelled Here: Simple House Slippers

Started / Finished: 12/22/16-1/1/17

Needles: US 7

Yarn: Bernat Softee Baby Solids & Marls in the color Flannel

Size: US Women’s Size 9

I didn’t learn any new techniques with these slippers, which must mean that I’m retaining knowledge from past projects. The free pattern has been in my queue on Ravelry for a really long time and I decided that it was finally time to make them. They were super easy, are very comfortable and I can see myself making some as gifts in the future. Paired with the super soft Bernat yarn plus the pattern being free and you’ve got yourself a winner, winner chicken dinner. I definitely want to make these again using a luxury yarn so you may be seeing them again in a different color / yarn in the future.

Also joining me on my sock knitting journey (at least I hope they still are!) are Katherine from fiber and sustenance and Maggie from Project(s) in Progress. Go check them out and see what they’ve been up to! If you’d like to join along too, let one of know so we can link up with you, post on the first Thursday of the month and have fun knitting socks!

Until next time, Happy Knitting! (P.S. It’s good to be back!)
