Once Upon a Sock: May 2018

Hi All!

We are trying something new this month with Once Upon a Sock (OUAS) and I hope you like it! With all the new bloggers joining us, and more reaching out each day, it was getting a little difficult to keep up, as well as time consuming going back to update each link to the specific blog post. Hopefully, this will make everything a little simpler!

Kat from felinityknits did the research and got me started with Inlinkz (thank you so much Kat!) and fingers crossed that I figured it out and it all works. Remember that this is my first time using this site, so please bear with me as I work through any kinks. I really hope this makes everything easier and less time consuming for everyone! And hopefully this posts at midnight my time…fingers crossed again that I wake up tomorrow morning and see people linking up!

Is this your first time here? A group of fellow bloggers and myself just so happen to love knitting (crocheting) socks. We post on the first Thursday of every month about our sock progress. If you would like to join up, write your own Once Upon a Sock blog, then click the link at the end of this post and follow the instructions. Other bloggers will be able to come back to this page and see your link and you can check out theirs too. Easy, peasy! One of the great things about this is that you don’t have to post every single month…just link up when you want to!

We have three different logos and you can choose your own by copying / pasting from any of our blogs. I happen to have all three in my blog today. Or, you can reach out to me and I’ll be happy to send them to you! Stefanie from stefanie crafts with wool paper fabric created the logos and they are awesome! I hope you’ll join in the fun and look forward to reading about your socks!

So what’s happening on my end? I didn’t think I’d have any progress this month with my Hygge House Socks; however I was able to get in 11 more rows on each sock. Woo hoo! I have finished the initial set of garter ridges in Color B and the first set of the pattern itself in Color A. I’m getting ready to switch back to Color B again for more garter ridge. You can see the dips and swirls caused by the pattern already happening.

It’s hard to see, but the yarn is actually purple and pink. I tried to take a close up pic of the yarn since most of the time it photographs very dark. I think these are going to be super cozy when they are finished. The yarn is uber soft and has such a nice halo.

Other than that, I’ve been working on a baby blanket that I hope to have wrapped up soon. Check out my last OUAS post to see more information on the project itself and the yarn. Once I finish these babies, I will post all the information again. BTW, isn’t this lazy susan yarn holder awesome? Check out my latest Instagram post for more information!

Until next time, Happy Knitting!

Looove your pink and purple socks. And I have got to get me one of those yarn lazy susans, such a simple yet genius idea!

    1. I’ve got to look at InLinkz again because I thought it would show the thumbnails on my blog instead of having to click the link to see the blogs that have joined up. I thought that was possible. I hope so! Thanks for sticking through the growing pains 🙂 I am annoyed at myself for not getting the lazy susan yarn holders sooner. They are seriously genius and make life so much easier 😀
